Introduction
Sublimation vacuum machines have revolutionized the way we approach 3D printing. Whether prototyping a single phone case or mass-producing keyboard keycaps, these machines deliver precise, seamless, and vibrant prints on a wide range of materials. In this blog, we’ll provide a detailed overview of how sublimation vacuum machines work, their applications, advantages, model selection, workflow, and why Prosub is trusted throughout the industry.
Imagine holding a phone case where every curve, edge, and corner bursts with vibrant, full-wrap graphics — no white spots, no peeling, no fading even after years of use. That’s the magic of a sublimation vacuum machine.

What is Sublimation Transfer Technology?
Sublimation Transfer is a printing process that uses heat to transfer dye onto materials such as fabric, plastic, and metal. It’s primarily used to create vibrant, long-lasting, and full-color prints on products like clothing, mugs, phone cases, and promotional items.

What is a Sublimation Vacuum Machine?
Core Technology
A sublimation vacuum machine combines the principles of vacuum pressure, heat, and time to create perfect, full-wrap prints on 3D objects. By using vacuum pressure, the machine tightly secures a sublimation film around the object, ensuring even distribution of heat and ink, which results in precise, seamless prints that cover every curve and edge.
Core Technology: How it Works
Vacuum Pressure: The vacuum system extracts air, allowing the film to conform tightly around the object. This ensures that the design covers all surfaces, including complex curves and edges.
Heat: The machine heats the object to approximately 130-140°C, causing the dye to sublimate and bond with the material.
Time: The entire process typically lasts 4-6 minutes, depending on the object and machine specifications, during which the design transfers onto the material.Four Key Component

Four Key Components
Uniform Aluminum Heating Platen: Ensures even heat distribution across the surface.
Vacuum Pump & Silicone Seal Strip: The pump extracts air; the silicone strip secures the film, creates a seal, and blocks internal-external air flow.
Digital Control Panel: Allows precise control over temperature, time, and vacuum pressure.
Mold/Fixture (The Heart of the Machine): Each machine uses custom molds made of high-quality aluminum to secure the blanks, ensuring even pressure. Molds are specific to each machine, ensuring the best possible outcome for each print.

Application Fields
Each Prosub model supports specific sizes, output, and products:

Applicable scenarios for each model:
Sublimation vacuum machines are versatile tools with applications spanning across various industries. Each model is tailored to meet specific needs, whether you’re a small business prototyping new products or a large-scale manufacturer running daily mass production.
A5 Sublimation Vacuum Machine: Ideal for prototyping, individual sellers, or startups looking to handle small-batch production needs.
A4 Sublimation Vacuum Machine: Perfect for custom production in small studios or gift shops specializing in personalized items.
A3 Standard Sublimation Vacuum Machine: Designed for medium-volume production scenarios, such as daily manufacturing for small to medium-sized workshops.
6-Slot Sublimation Vacuum Machine: A heavy-duty model suited for high-volume, large-scale production in factories.
Keycaps Sublimation Vacuum Machine: Tailored for keyboard brands and modders looking for customized keycap production.

Advantages of Sublimation Vacuum Machines
360° Seamless Coverage: These machines ensure that the print wraps around the entire surface of 3D objects, including hard-to-reach areas, ensuring no part of the design is missed.
Vibrant & Scratch-Proof Prints: The sublimation process bonds the ink into the surface of the material, making it resistant to fading, scratching, and wear over time.
High Efficiency for Batch Production: With options for multiple slots, sublimation vacuum machines can handle batch production, improving efficiency and scaling up output by up to three times compared to single-slot machines.
Beginner-Friendly: With user-friendly digital controls and minimal setup, these machines are accessible even to those new to sublimation printing.
Better Than Heat Presses Machine: Unlike heat press machine, which struggle with 3D objects, sublimation vacuum machines are designed to handle complex shapes and contours, ensuring high-quality results.

Step-by-Step Workflow
- Design patterns using software such as CorelDRAW, Illustrator, Photoshop,Print image by dye sublimationink in sublimation film (mirror print).
- Select the corresponding mold, preheat the machine and mold about 10S.
- Use a hair dryer (hot air)Fully dry the ink.
- Put the 3D phone case on the mold, put the driedfilm into the machine, printed side down, set the time:360s,temp:266F.
- The machine automatically performs vacuuming, heating, and timing. Once the timing is complete, the vacuum machine can be opened, the mold removed, and the film peeled off.
Remember to wear gloves and be careful, the machine will get very hot!!!
